The Office of Environmental Sustainability (OES), National University of Singapore and the Workplace Research Centre (WRC), University of Sydney are jointly organising The National Sustainability Conference 2010, entitled “Environmental Up-Skilling & the Green Collar Industry”. This conference builds on the Climate Change @ Work series of conferences which take place in Australia and promote achieving sustainability in the workplace through sustainable leadership and management practice.



The inaugural National Sustainability Conference (NSC) was held from 20-22 February 2009 and organised by OES, SAVE and E3Alive. The conference brought together an interesting array of experts from various fields of public policy, political science, international affairs, environmental law, economics, design and building, environmental science, geography and business. Speakers discussed global sustainability issues in Singapore’s context, our response to these challenges as well as emerging opportunities. Concurrently at the conference, The Singapore Youth Declaration for Sustainable Development was finalized on 22 February 2009. All in, the NSC was a success and attended by over 350 participants from government, educational institutions, foreign embassies, local and foreign media, NGOs, private sector and youth environmental groups.





The Office of Environmental Sustainability (OES) is based in the National University of Singapore and is set up with the aim to promote, coordinate and implement the most effective sustainability practices possible by developing positive solutions for today’s ecological challenges.


The Workplace Research Centre is based in the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University to provide high quality research, training and conferences on all aspects of work and working life.
